This session will provide an overview of the tools and strategies associated with pricing for export markets. The focus will be on market-driven decision-making, cultural differences, legislative issues and ethical factors that can influence export pricing. Participants will have the opportunity to put theory into practice with a pricing exercise and take away further tools and resources to apply to your own business’ export pricing decisions.
Leroy Lowe is an expert in international trade with an extensive background in international business. He began his career as an Aerospace Engineering Officer and Project Manager in the Canadian Airforce and then worked for Sparton of Canada and Mxi technologies in the defense and aerospace sectors. In his corporate roles, he recruited and managed agents, distributors and strategic alliance partners in over 20 countries. He is now a full-time faculty member in International Business at the Nova Scotia Community College and an active international business consultant who has worked with a wide range of companies across many sectors. He has also delivered trade-related workshops to World Trade Center Staff in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Middle East and Asia. He has a Bachelor of Science degree, a Diploma in Engineering, a Masters Degree in Adult Education, an MBA, and a PhD. He is also a Certified International Trade Professional, a Certified Global Business Professional, and a social entrepreneur (see www.gettingtoknowcancer.org)
