Counsellor & Senior Trade Commissioner
Global Affairs Canada – Canadian Embassy in Beijing
9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Monday, February 22, 2016
PEI Convention Centre, Pope Room
China is the world’s fastest growing economy, remains one of Canada’s top three export destinations and ranks 11th in export market importance for Prince Edward Island, with merchandise exports valued at over $12.4 million in 2014. Not immune from current global market turbulence and volatility, recent currency fluctuations have raised concerns about ‘Sino’ stability but the country continues on a more modest but steady path of 6-7% GDP and economic growth.
Bringing his informed perspective as Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, Mr. Christopher MacLean will provide frankness and insight on the ongoing market opportunities, challenges and risks associated with “Doing Business in China.” Of particular interest to the PEI corporate audience will be Mr. MacLean’s commentary and presentation on sectoral prospects in food, manufacturing and service based industries.
To attend this session, please register your interest with Sheila Corcoran at ACOA PEI & Tourism at Sheila.Corcoran@canada.ca.
Registration will start at 8:30 a.m.; refreshments and snacks will be provided.
