There are several key areas of consideration when determining whether the internal capacity to take on new markets exists within a company and ultimately, those individuals within the company are best positioned to determine whether the resources, rationale and readiness exist. This session will cover areas from human resources, financial, management, sales, production and customer service capacity and provide you with the right questions to ask when you look within to consider export development or simply expanding to new markets.
Mr. Mark Kilby will provide an introductory presentation on international trade capacity considerations based on his extensive experience in international market and business development with IMP Aerospace, General Dynamics, and Bombardier. He also brings a public sector lens having worked with many government departments, crown corporations, and regional development agencies including; Industry Canada, CCC, ACOA, CBDC, PWGSC, and BDC. Mark continues to help private sector individuals and companies turn ideas into opportunities through his consulting work with Lynwood Cameron. After close to 30 years in industry, Mark recently took on the role of instructor in the International Business program at NSCC where he now prepares students to become tomorrow’s leaders in international business.
